ICORG is a cancer clinical research organisation. It is a not for profit entity funded mainly by the Irish Cancer Society and through a grant awarded to it by the All Ireland cancer consortium (www.allirelandnci.org). The groups mission is to enable Irish patients to gain early access to new cancer treatments.
The Group was set up in 1996 by an executive consisting of cancer consultants. The aim was to put a formal structure in place to make Ireland more attractive as a location to international cancer research groups and the Pharmaceutical industry. In 2000 the group expanded its membership to include Northern Ireland. Today it has nearly 250 members and counts more then 95# of the Islands cancer treating consultants among its membership.
In its first eight years ICORG has opened 64 research protocols and allowed access to research treatments to more then 1400 Irish cancer patients.
ICORG has developed strong links with many leading international cancer research groups and those in industry developing the most exciting new cancer treatments.
ICORG offers members and client groups expertise/guidance in areas such as; protocol development, data management, statistics, regulatory/ethics/ GCP compliance, CRF design, project management, quality programs, monitoring, GCP training, drug labeling, pharmacovigilence etc .
